Global Scholars Essay Contest!

In recognition of America's 250th anniversary, Columbus Council on World Affairs is partnering with the Franklin County Board of Commissioners to invite Global Scholars to reflect on what citizenship means today.
This is a chance for students to put their voice on the record and be publicly recognized for it by county leadership.

Winners will receive:
- Trophy and Certificate
- Recognition during a Franklin County Board of Commissioners General Session, including an opportunity to take a photograph with the Commissioners
- Recognition on CCWA's social media and at the April 2027 Take Action Fair and Graduation Event
Guidelines Eligibility:
Open to all Global Scholars Diploma participants
Length: 500–750 words
Format: Typed, double-spaced, original work
Submission deadline: Saturday, September 30
How Essays Are Judged
- Responsiveness to the prompt
- Originality and thoughtfulness
- Understanding of history, citizenship, or community
- Organization and clarity
- Grammar and overall presentation
