Columbus Council on World Affairs (CCWA) Data Privacy & Program Participation Agreement for Partner Schools

This agreement ensures that the Columbus Council on World Affairs (CCWA), in delivering the Global Scholars Diploma (GSD) program, maintains compliance with Ohio Senate Bill 29 (SB 29), FERPA, and ethical program standards.

Data Privacy and SB 29 Compliance

o   School and Student Data:

o    CCWA may collect and process limited student data (Appendix A), including names, emails, educational records, and participation documentation, solely for educational purposes aligned with the GSD program.

o   Use of Data:

o   All student data is protected under FERPA and Ohio SB 29.

o   No student data will be sold, monetized, or shared beyond CCWA and its authorized educational service providers.

o   Ownership and Access:

o   Student educational records remain the property of the school district.

o   Students and parents may request access or correction to data as permitted by law.

o   Security Safeguards:

o   CCWA implements reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect student data from unauthorized access or disclosure, aligned with best practices.

o   Breach Notification:

o   In the event of a data breach, CCWA will notify affected partner schools within 72 hours of confirming the breach.

o   Third-Party Vendors:

o   Any third-party vendors used by CCWA in service of the GSD program must agree to maintain the same data privacy protections outlined in this agreement.

o   Review and Transparency:

o   CCWA will make information about its data privacy practices available to partner schools upon request.
