Second Round of Zoom Sessions

Year 1: You will have the opportunity to attend a live Zoom session where we have invited career ambassadors to speak directly with you. You will have the opportunity to hear from them about their career, and the skills needed to be successful. You will also hear about some of the global aspects of those careers, and have the opportunity to ask questions!

Year 2: You have been learning about significant issues that effect the world. Specifically you dove in to the Global Water Crisis, and discovered how complex the issue can be. We are inviting speakers knowledgeable and involved in the global water crisis, giving you a first hand opportunity to ask questions and connect with a global issue in more depth. This is an essential skill when planning for your Take Action Projects (TAP) in Year 3.

Course Requirements:
Below are the dates and times of the scheduled Zoom sessions. You must register for, and attend, at least one of the sessions for your year group. However, you are welcome to come to all of them! Following the Zoom session there will be a survey to complete in order to receive credit for participating.

Jeff Jackson

Water Mission

Jeff spent over 5 years working as the program and communications coordinator for a humanitarian engineering nonprofit in central Ohio called Design Outreach (DO). While there are many causes to poverty in developing countries, water is usually central. Because of this, many of the projects that DO focused on were related to addressing the water crisis. Throughout his time there he focused on the accurate and timely delivery of program information to supporters which included media assets and updates on various projects. This at times took him overseas to Haiti and Ethiopia to collect imagery, videos, stories, and data. Previous to his time at DO Jeff, spent time in Cambodia, Ghana, Kenya, and India working with various nonprofits and NGO’s to address issues related to poverty and the water crisis.
